
The International Association of Wood Anatomists (IAWA), an association dedicated to raise awareness of the place of wood anatomy in science, technology and in the conservation of environmental resources, has released their newsletter for February 2018.
The newsletter covers upcoming events for building bridges and facilitating knowledge exchange or for region specific ecosystem responses to extreme events such as the European Geo-sciences Union (EGU) Session, taking place from 8. to 13. April 2018 in Vienna or TRACE meeting from 24.-27.04.2018 in Greifswald, Germany and many more.
It also summarizes reports of important meetings, like the first Forum of Amazon Wood Anatomists (FAMAZON) in Belém, Pará or the fourth IAWA-China Group Annual Meeting at Zhang-Jia-Gang in China in November 2017. The reports summarize crucial outcomes of theses meetings with over 100 researchers, institutes and lively discussions on wood production inspection related research.
