IUFRO 2019 Congress will be held at Curitiba of Brazil from September 29 to October 5, 2019. The Congress is calling for abstracts of sessions.
Within this Congress, IAWA initiated an IAWA-IUFRO Session (Symposium) — C5d New Methods and Applications of Timber Identification, under the Congress theme Forests and Forest Products for a Greener Future. The goal of this session is to present recent advances in methods and applications of timber identification: Research updates of wood identification methods; Developing databases or networks for wood identification; and selected applications adopted with advanced and effective technologies for wood identification.
Meanwhile, a related session organized by LPF of Brazil is listed as C3i Tools for Tropical Wood Identification against Illegal Logging. This session aims to address and discuss potential tools that could be used isolated or in combination to identify and/or discriminate species and origins of tropical timber.
These two sessions will be organized as an IAWA-IUFRO-LPF Joint Symposium during the IUFRO Congress. The Congress is calling for abstracts of sessions. Please feel free to submit your abstract with appropriate topic to either of them. End of call for abstracts will be December 31, 2018.
