The newest methodologies, technologies and industry examples for implementing zero deforestation policies
The Innovation Forum invites to its interactive conference on how to tackle deforestation in the human rights action center of Amnesty International London. This event will bring together key players from business, government, NGOs and the investment community. We’ll discuss the challenges faced in removing deforestation from corporate supply chains and how to implement zero deforestation policies, including a session with Supply Change senior advisor, Stephen Donofrio, on the status of Brazil and Norway’s Amazon fund as well as Norway’s standards for “sustainable” palm oil. The event will focus on a variety of emerging trends, what they mean for business, and how one can respond to them on a practical level.
Some core themes throughout the conference will shed light on the impact of company policies for zero deforestation supply chains, on the role of financial institutions as well as on sustainable procurement and on appealing to traders to act on deforestation related traceability. One of the main questions of the conference will address the future role of business in driving the anti-deforestation agenda with governments currently neglecting climate change and environmental issues.
A series of interactive workshops will address topics such as tackling human rights violations on plantations, the future of certification in light of market consolidation and corporate changes. They will further focus on supply chains of cocoa, soy and viscose and on cracking jurisdictional and landscape approaches to unlock every stakeholder’s full potential.
Already confirmed to attend are representatives of Bunge, Olam, BNP Paribas, ABN AMRO, RSPO, IOI Loders Croklaan, Pearson, Barry Callebaut, Mighty Earth, HCV Resource Network, Canopy, Marks and Spencer and many more.
